For any organization to run successfully, it is of utmost importance that people network and interact smoothly, and exchange important information. Technologies like Lync, SharePoint, Exchange make this possible. A powerful combination of these technologies can take any company to the next level!
Lync:

Lync can be used internally within an enterprise or between two or more enterprises or even with external parties on public internet or phones (PSTN and SIP Trunking). Lync Server makes use of Interactive Connectivity Establishment for NAT traversal and TLS encryption for providing secure voice and video, whether inside and outside the enterprises. Apart from these basic features, Lync also provides features like Identity Federation, which can be configured manually or automatically.

It works equally well on PC as well as Mac. Though Exchange Server was basically developed for commercial use, however, due to its flexibility and easy to use features, it is also very popular among individuals, as compared to other webmail clients.

In the beginning, Exchange Server was Microsoft’s internal mail server. Exchange Server 4.0 was the first version to be used external to Microsoft. Protocol used by Exchange Server is known as MAPI. With time, Exchange has also started supporting POP3, IMAP, EAS and SMTP. Exchange Server has the license to be used both as an on-premise software and software as a service.
